YOUTH TENNIS programs programs for ages 2 1/2 to 18 (scroll down to see specific classes, times, dates, cost, etc.)
Tiny Tots- This is a 45-minute class where 2 1/2 to 4 year olds learn fun hand-eye coordination through tennis games.
Little Shots- This is a new 60-minute USTA Quickstart class that caters to 4 to 7 year olds and teaches motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and beginner strokes. Children of differing abilities are grouped accordingly within the class.
Beginners- New students to tennis ages 8-14 will learn the basic fundamentals of tennis with the emphasis on developing stroke mechanics, footwork, and balance.
Advanced Beginners- Experienced students ages 8-16 will work on scoring matches, footwork, and honing in on general tennis skills.
Intermediates- Very experienced students ages 10-18 who are looking for better strategy and skill development are welcome.
THE ACADEMY-There are three levels of The Academy: Apprentice Tennis, Transitional Tennis and Tennis Excellence. Entry into each class requires Pro-approval and placement. A long-sleeved t-shirt will be given to each participant. Each class runs 8 weeks.
Tiny Tots Tennis: In order to have a Tiny Tots class, we must have at least four children between the ages of 2-3 signed up. This class includes pre-sports skills, hand-eye coordination drills as well as pre-tennis and racquet games necessary for the young athlete's development. Racquets will be provided for this class.
Little Shots Tennis: Little Shots is an hour-long class on Wednesdays; children are grouped according to ability within the class. The entire setup for Little Shots is different than on a regular tennis court, and is in accordance with the USTA Quickstart Program. There will be 12 students per class; racquets are provided.
Winter Tennis for kids ages 8-18 Saturdays: (This is an 8-week session: Jan. 10, 17, 24, 31, Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28)) All Saturday classes for this session cost $112 for members and $168 for non-members Beginner Class: Ages 8-14, 10-11am Advanced Beginners: Ages 8-16, 11am-12pm Intermediates: Ages 10-18, 12-1pm Tuesdays: (This is an 8-week session: Jan. 6, 13, 20, 27, Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24) The Beginner Class & Advanced Beginner Class cost $112 for members and $168 for non-members. The JV Level Class costs $168 for members and $224 for non-members. After The Courts' Tennis Pros approve and place the students who are interested in being in The Academy, each player will be contacted. Pre-registration for each upcoming session will be reserved by a payment made by the last day of the current session. Please contact Traci with any questions. (219.465.1111, ext. 5) Private lessons with Traci, Brian or Miguel are available! Prices are based on one person per lesson. Prices in red are member prices; prices in green are non-member prices.
